$10K Reward Offered To Identify Note-Passing Maryland Bank Robber

Detectives have released images of suspects believed to be involved in several armed bank robberies in Gaithersburg, authorities say.

The first robbery occurred on Thursday, Sept. 8 around 5 p.m., at the TD Bank in the 800 block of West Diamond Avenue. During the robbery, the suspect passed an employee a note demanding money and stating that he had a gun and a pipe bomb. The employee then handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who left the bank.

In the second robbery on Tuesday, Sept. 27, just before 5 p.m., the TD Bank in the 15000 block of Shady Grove Road was reported to be robbed. The suspect reportedly handed over a note to the employee that stated that he would shoot the employee and demanded all of the money to be handed over. The employee complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as Black male, unknown age, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall to 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs approximately 170-190 pounds. He was wearing gloves and a mask.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the bank and obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect.
